In addition to trout, the reservoir has also been stocked with coho smolts for the last few years. Many people mistakenly think these fish are kokanee. All of the coho smolts are adipose fin-clipped, and please remember to release the ones less than 8-inches long.

In Galesville Reservoir, all landlocked salmon are considered trout and are part of the five-per-day trout limit, with only one trout over 20-inches long allowed for harvest. Galesville was stocked with about 2000 legal size trout last week. The lake will be stocked the week of March 14 with an additional 1,000 legals.
