Trout fishing in streams is open until Oct. 31. Fishing with bait is now allowed in streams above tidewater.

Anglers have been trolling for Chinook salmon on the lower Coquille River from the Highway 101 Bridge to Bear Creek. A few salmon have been caught over the past week.

Fishing for smallmouth bass has been good in the mainstem and South Fork Coquille. Jigs, crawdad crankbaits, and nightcrawlers will all work to catch smallmouth bass.

Crabbing has been decent for boat crabbers across from Bandon in the lower Coquille. Crabbing will continue to improve in the next few months.
