Fall Chinook fishing on the Yaquina river/bay has been slow but a few fish are being caught each day. Fishing will continue to improve as more fish begin to enter the lower estuary waiting for the fall rains. Expect numbers of fall Chinook entering the bays and estuaries to increase throughout September. Best techniques include trolling herring/spinners and bobber fishing with bait.

**Reminder: All wild coho must be released during the 2018 fall salmon season.

Sea-run cutthroat will continue to enter the lower river later this month and into the fall. These fish are very aggressive, respond well to flies and lures, and can be up to 20-inches long.

Trout fishing is open in streams and river. Fishing is restricted to artificial flies and lures, May 22- Oct 31.
