Anglers have been picking up a few Chinook in the bay. This is just the beginning of the fall chinook fishery which will run through mid-October. Boat anglers will have a new obstacle this year as the Rogue estuary is getting dredged. Dredging is scheduled to run through September.

Summer steelhead fishing has been slow as flows remain fairly high. Anglers can expect steelhead fishing to pick up in August when the late summers move in and flows have dropped.

Fishing for surf perch has been good in the estuary. Folks have had best success on the incoming tide about an hour before high tide.
