This urban lake usually gets stocked from about Thanksgiving through May. It was stocked last week with about 1,000 hatchery trout. This week about 100 extra-large brood trout averaging about 10 pounds each were released into this waterbody. As a reminder, anglers may keep only one fish over 20-inches as part of their 5 trout bag limit.
Walter Wirth is a 20-acre lake located within the City of Salem’s Cascades Gateway Park with good access all the way around.
