Welcome everyone to the 2023 kokanee season. Yes I have begun my scouting out on Detroit Lake. I have very positive findings from my first trip out. I launched with my fishing buddy Bob and we located large groups of kokanee just off Mongold, b/t 12-45 feet. The water temp was 37 degrees fahrenheit. The winter ramp was very accessible. The bite was very poor, but that was expected given the cold water temp. Be very careful of the shallow depths close to shore, water level is still very low. Docks are not yet floating.
