Applegate dropped six feet in the last week as part of the annual drawdown, and the surface temperature has jumped to 80oF. Fishing for warmwater fish should be the focus for Applegate anglers. Fishing for bass is good, especially for smallmouth bass. Trout anglers will want to fish early morning and in deeper water but should be cautious with catch-and-release fishing as reservoir surface temperatures rise.‌
