The release from Lost Creek Reservoir is 1825 cfs and temperature is 56F. River temperatures in the upper Rogue will stay fairly consistent, so this is a good area for catch-and-release fishing.
The focus on the upper Rogue is now summer steelhead and trout fishing. Summer steelhead are still moving into the upper river, and anglers report good success on trout. Last week 163 new summer steelhead entered the hatchery collection pond, bringing the total for the hatchery run to date to 1,759 fish.
Moss on the substrate is being reported as unusually extensive in some areas so anglers may want to keep gear off the bottom for best success.
Anglers can call the Army Corps of Engineers at 800-472-2434 for an update on hatchery counts as well as flow and temperature information.
Make sure to check the Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations for each section of river before you head out.
For up-to-date river levels, check all the USGS Rogue gauges here.
