The slow bite on the Yaquina has gotten even slower the past few weeks

Fall Chinook is open on the Yaquina. It's been particularly slow on the Yaquina with not as many fish being caught in the basin compared to our other Mid Coast Basins. The slow bite on the Yaquina has gotten even slower the past few weeks and not many fish are being caught. Like the rest of our Mid Coast basins chinook fishing is all but done. Fall Chinook will close Dec. 31. ‌

Winter steelhead will be entering the system and like our other basins will likely take advantage of the recent rains to move quickly upriver.

Salmon River: The past few weeks of rains have moved fish high into the system
Siletz River: The rains we have had these last weeks have pushed any lingering fish high into the spawning grounds
Siltcoos Lake: Coho fishing on Siltcoos and Tahkenitch lakes is still open
Siuslaw River: Fish are moving higher upstream
Trask River: The Trask River is a little on the low side, but still very fishable
