The Metolius has been fishing well. The Met is a great winter option as everything below Allingham bridge is open year round, the waters above Allingham bridge open May 22, 2024. Nymphing has been the ticket for us recently and a variety of bugs have been picking up fish. Golden stones, eggs, zebra midges, two-bits, october caddis, and soft hackle pheasant tails have all accounted for fish. If you see fish rising try throwing some BWOs at them, if they don't like those tiny midge dries are worth a shot. As always big streamers are the way to go for bulls, although they will occasionally take nymphs so be prepared when you're fishing for rainbows.
