This is one of the best rivers to fish steelhead when there are frequent storms. The river usually clears pretty quickly after a storm. There is very limited bank access, so anglers with drift boats tend to do the best. Anglers can check the river gage height at Elk River Hatchery by calling 541-332-0405. The river fishes the best at 5' and dropping.

Chetco River: Frequent storms have made for some tough fishing conditions
Diamond Lake: Diamond is starting to freeze over and likely is not fishable
