The Kilchis is on the way up today along with the rest of the North Coast Rivers but drops and clears faster than many. It may fish this weekend but will likely still be on the high side and may be off color. Whenever the conditions do improve there should be winter steelhead throughout the system.
The Mapes Creek (logging bridge) boat ramp was damaged in the storm a few weeks ago, and is still closed. Boaters should use extreme caution and check the ramp before launching there.
