Howard Prairie is 40 percent full. The reservoir level is about 3 feet higher than it was at this point last year, and the boat ramp at the marina is still open.
An angler did very well on trout casting a rooster tail near the dam recently. Bank fishing with PowerBait or casting spinners has also been successful. Trolling a wedding ring spiked with a worm or PowerWorm behind a small egg sinker should be productive, along with still fishing with PowerBait.
