he Green Drake hatch is our favorite hatch of the year on this river and it's just now rolling! These big clumsy mayflies bring almost every trout in the river to the surface when the hatch really gets going in the afternoons. The Drakes are being joined by regular PMD hatches as well as plenty of caddis and little stones. Long leaders and fine tippets rule, and florocarbon tippet helps a lot. Bull trout fishing has begun to slow down as of late here.

Deschutes River- LowerNot much changing down here since last week. The Salmonflies and Golden Stones are rolling from Warm Springs downriver, with the bugs thinning out well above Maupin. We are seeing the fish being on the bugs almost everywhere on this stretch of the river! The afternoons and evenings continue to be best with the egg-laying flights of the female stones and goldens happening later in the day.
