Fishing has been Fair-Good. River Flows:??Madras @ 3,880cfs.??@ 55.8 degrees.?? Moody @ 5,020cfs.
The Deschutes is now in full on Caddis mode.?? You can catch trout all day on dries if you want.?? Early morning at sunrise and again at sunset are of course the prime times but through out the day look for shady areas and you will do just fine on caddis adults.?? PMD's are winding down for the season.??
Suggested Trout patterns for the month of July.?? Surface Hatches:??Spotted Caddis, Little Yellow Stones,
Patterns:?????? Tan bodied CDC Caddis #14-16,?? Tan, olive, brown bodied Elk Hair Caddis #14-16,?? #10, Yellow Body Sallie #14,?? Almost Dun #16-20 and Pale Morning Duns in size 16-18.??
Nymphs:?? Pale Morning Dun Nymph, Golden Stone Nymph. ???? Patterns:???? Soft Hackles in colors of tan, brown, yellow, green (sizes 12-14)Beadhead Prince (size 12-14), Kaufmann Stones (sizes 6-10), Red Fox Squirrel nymph #12-14, Zug Bug (size 14),?? Pheasant Tail (size 16-18), or Sparkle Larva (size 12-14). ?Į
