Reports on the Metolius include good numbers of anglers, and fewer trout. Although the hatches seem to just keep coming, most anglers are not doing much damage to the trout here. It is still a beautiful place to fish, but adjust your expectations accordingly. Long leaders and fine tippets rule, and florocarbon tippet helps a lot. Bull trout fishing has been affected by the angling pressure.

Deschutes River- LowerTrout: The caddis remain thick and there are often huge clouds present in the evenings as long as it doesn't get too breezy. We are still seeing persistent PMD and PED hatches and the trout are looking for these mayflies with some regularity.
