The Fall has been a bright spot over the last two weeks as fall weather settles in. Caddis hatches and some mayfly and midge activity are the primary surface draw here with occasionally strong PMD hatches, and lots of BWO's when the rain is falling. Small nymphs and big streamers have been best when fishing sub surface. Try fluorocarbon tippet!

The Crooked continues to be stable at around 230cfs, and the fishing has actually been slowly improving. The evening caddis hatch is fairly predictable, and besides, fishing a dry reduces the by catch of non target species (Whitefish). If you venture out here you should have some elbow room, at least until people realize that the trout fishing out here can still be pretty good It's not like it was in the good old days, but it's still better than......
