Water Condition: As stated above the river has spiked and is not fishable but has already started to drop and should be back fishable by the end of next week.
Fishing Condition, Techniques and Hatches: The Salmon in the river are spawning and the Steelhead are eating eggs and becoming more active with the cooler water temps. There are plenty of Grey Drakes and Orange Caddis showing up high. The lower river is picking up for trout from the dam to the confluence.
Comments: Patterns for the Mckenzie: Hairwing Grey Drake, Morrish October Caddis, Heavy Hackle Adams, Orange Madam X. Swinging soft hackles on the lower river has been the best producer. Steelhead: Clown Eggs, Agent Orange Stones, Moal Leeches, Silver Hilton
