Winter steelhead fishing was slow on the North Fork last week, although probably a little better than the week before. The hatchery run is definitely underway though, and rains predicted for this weekend should bring the river up and once it starts to drop conditions will be good, and I would expect there to be fish around.
The mainstem Nehalem is mostly a wild steelhead river and as such it is still a little early.
