Report your 2020 hunt
It's not too early
If all that’s left of your 2020 hunt are the memories, there’s still one last thing to do. You need to report your hunt and why wait until the last minute? You can report online or with an ODFW license agent. ODFW offices remain closed to walk-in traffic.
Sign up for a hunter ed field day
If you were unable to complete a field day last year due to COVID restrictions, you’re not off the hook. The temporary rule expires on March 31, and you’ll still need to complete a field day before you can hunt for spring turkey or bear. Find a nearby field day.
Ice fishing is hot
Anglers reporting good success
Ice fishing has been excellent at several locations throughout the state. Anglers with a two-rod validation can fish up to five rods (or lines) when ice fishing. If you’ve never tried fishing through the ice, here are some tips.
It’s time for winter steelhead
As soon as water levels subside
It’s prime time for winter steelhead fishing. While water levels may be running high in your home waters, experienced anglers know to be ready to hit the water once they begin to drop. Looking for more steelhead tips – here ya go.
Bird seasons counting down
Duck, chukar and turkey seasons end with January
With most big game hunts over, why not finish out the season with some bird hunting?
Most upland and migratory seasons are open though Jan. 31. Snipe hunting doesn’t close until Feb. 21 (Zone 1) and Jan. 24 (Zone 2). Will this be the year you finally go on a “snipe hunt?” If so, here are some tips on snipe hunting.
