Due to forecasted low Chinook returns, the Siuslaw basin including Lake Creek and all other tributaries are closed for the entire 2022 salmon season. The Coastal Multispecies Plan (CMP) manages Chinook escapement along the North and Mid-Coast and triggers closures and other management actions during forecasted low returns. This closure includes all salmon angling for Chinook and Coho salmon for the entire 2022 season.
Trout fishing in streams opened on May 22. Cutthroat trout can be found throughout the Siuslaw basin and provide good opportunity for some fun spring fishing. Check the regulations for open areas and gear restrictions.
