Some hatchery coho and Chinook moved into the lower river on last week’s rain, but the best fishing is still in tidewater. The Trask is closed to the retention of wild Chinook this year, but there will be a few hatchery Chinook available for harvest.

The Trask River will be open for retention of hatchery Chinook and hatchery coho but will be closed to wild Chinook retention for the remainder of the year due to low returns forecasted for the fall run. See the regulation updates for more information.

  • The Trask from 200 feet above Gold Creek at Trask Hatchery and 900 feet below (which includes the hatchery hole) is closed to angling July 16 to Oct. 15. Closed from marker at Dam Hole (MP 7 on Trask River Rd) up to Blue Ridge Cr September 1 to Nov. 30.

Trask river levels and predictions are available here.
