Nestucca River Fish Report for 11-3-2022

The wild coho fishery on the Nestucca basin closed after Oct. 15. There will be no retention of wild coho allowed for the remainder of 2022. 

The majority of the fall Chinook should be in the river at this point and throughout the fishery. A heavy rain event is predicted for Friday which will likely have the Nestucca high and off color for the weekend and possibly into next week, but I would expect Chinook fishing to be good as it drops back into shape next week.

Walter Wirth Lake: Stocked for the first time this fall
Alsea River: Fall Chinook fishing should improve this weekend
Kilchis River: The Kilchis will be open for retention of hatchery salmon but will be closed to wild Chinook
Necanicum River: Fall Chinook are available in the Necanicum basin
