The Siuslaw is open for retention of hatchery winter steelhead. Although it's still early in the season fish have likely taken advantage of the incoming rains and moved quickly through tide water and into the upper river. More fish have been entering the system but similar to our other Mid Coast basins the bite has been fair at best.
Trout fishing closed Oct. 31.
