Boat anglers are having pretty good success side drifting from Elk Rive Hatchery down to Ironhead boat ramp. This is one of the best rivers to fish steelhead when there are frequent storms. There is very limited bank access, so anglers with drift boats tend to do the best. Anglers can check the river gage height at Elk River Hatchery by calling 541-332-0405. The river fishes the best at 5' and dropping.
