Anglers will start targeting Chinook in the lower portion of the river and it should pick up as we get closer to September. Wild coho will only be open in the mainstem Umpqua but not Smith River, starting Sept. 14. ‌

Trout and bass fishing in the upper portion should be good as well. The mainstem above Sisters Cr.is open for trout 2 per day, 8-inch minimum length.
