Fall Chinook fishing continues to be fair on the Siletz but it should improve with the forecasted rain

Fall Chinook fishing continues to be fair on the Siletz but it should improve with the forecasted rain events. The river should be on the rise over the weekend and be dropping into shape next week. Expect the river fishing to pick up over the next couple of weeks.
Wild coho retention closed on Oct. 15 on the Siletz River. All wild Coho will have to be released for the remainder of the season.
Cutthroat trout are also abundant and available throughout the Siletz basin, check the regulations for opens areas and bag limits. Trout fishing in streams closed on Oct. 31.

Walter Wirth Lake: Stocked for the first time this fall
Alsea River: Fall Chinook fishing should improve this weekend
Kilchis River: The Kilchis will be open for retention of hatchery salmon but will be closed to wild Chinook
Necanicum River: Fall Chinook are available in the Necanicum basin
Nehalem River: Salmon fishing on Nehalem Bay has really dropped off the past week

Nestucca River: The majority of the fall Chinook should be in the river at this point and throughout the fishery
