Winter steelhead are starting to enter the Clackamas and while it is early in the season, the early component of the run can be found throughout the system. Reports of fish being caught are coming in and numbers can only be expected to increase with each passing rain event.

Hatchery coho are very unlikely to be found this late in the season, but there is still a healthy number of wild fish in the river, which can make for some exciting bycatch while targeting winter steelhead. As a reminder, always avoid disturbing spawning fish/beds while on the water. Their success determines the health of our runs in the future.

The mouth of Eagle Creek is a popular and crowded location for targeting fish on the Clackamas. OSP keeps a close eye on this area and writes many citations for snagging and other fishing violations.
